Welcome to the First Grade web site. This is a new
adventure for me so please be patient with me as I learn a new skill. First grade is a magical year. Children
grow so much in so many ways. Many children come into first grade knowing the letters of the alphabet and a few words and
are reading by the time they leave. They learn to add and subtract, to tell time and to count money and make change.
They learn about butterflies and mammals, simple machines and plants. I am still amazed every June by how much children
learn in first grade. Because the children have so much to learn we will need to work together to insure
that each child learns to their maximum ability. If you ever have questions or concern please feel free
